Common problems

Larissa has expertise in working with post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, personality disorders and addictions. While some difficulties may be severe enough to warrant a diagnosis, she doesn't believe in over-pathologising clients' complaints. If you feel that you are struggling with challenges in your life and don't know where to begin, therapy may be able to help.

Treatment Modalities

Once we have a good understanding of what is troubling you, Larissa will work with you to select the most appropriate treatment approach - taking into account your preferences and what the research tells us will be most effective. I am trained and experienced in several therapies, including:

  • Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy

  • Schema therapy

  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy

  • Dialectical behaviour therapy

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy

My Approach

​

While I have extensive training and experience in the treatment of mental health difficulties, I believe that nobody knows you better than you. My approach to therapy is therefore highly collaborative. I can share with you my knowledge of evidence-based treatment techniques and strategies, but it is you who sets the goals and pace for sessions.
